Application Process

We offer a streamlined application process by accepting applications online and offering same-day approval in most cases. We understand the anxiety your clients face in a transition, as well as the challenges our referral partners face on a daily basis. Usually, we can call you to conduct a phone screen within a few hours of receiving your application. A decision on your application will be made during the phone screen, in most cases.

Therapeutic Role of Art, Music, and Meditation During Recovery

We are committed to having a cautious screening process to ensure that applicants are a compatible match to live in our homes. The process begins with basic background questions screening for an applicant’s recovery status, sober date, and substance of choice. He is passionate about helping residents along their journey and fostering a family-like atmosphere in each home. As he says, “this is a kind of small family for a short period of time, so you have to treat each other that way”. Before joining Vanderburgh Communities, Jake worked as an aftercare coordinator at a local CSS program, where he referred residents to the program and established himself as a trusted member of the community. His biggest motivation for taking on the role of house operator was the opportunity to name one of the homes after his best friend, who lost his life to an overdose.

We carefully screen each applicant and conduct a telephone screen prior to approval to ensure a good fit in our homes. Guests of sober homes pay affordable and simple all-inclusive rent payments on a weekly or monthly basis. Sober homes offer an opportunity for men and women in recovery to live together and support each other while pursuing a new life in recovery.
